Annual general body meeting of Buntara Sangha Kuwait was held on Friday December 29, 2017 at Indian Community School, Salmiya. The activity for the day commenced with a prayer song to Lord Ganesh by Harshi Prakash Shetty, Lighting of the lamp by the outgoing president and managing committee members marked the inauguration of the event.

General secretary Praveen Shetty Sankat presented the annual report for the year, highlighting the achievements of the Sangha in cultural and charitable activities during the year. The audited annual financial report for the year 2017 was presented by the Treasurer Niranjan Malli, Gundilaguthu, which was later approved by the members present at the AGM with a loud round of applause.

President Yadunath Alva, Adyapadi thanked all the members for their strong support during his tenure. He praised the managing committee members for their innovative ideas, strategic thinking and tireless efforts to increase the visibility of the Sangha. He reiterated that the support of the members and goodwill have enabled the Sangha to make remarkable contributions towards welfare activities under HEMA (health, education and marriage assistance) scheme.

Subcommittee members of the previous managing committee members were presented with mementos, Sangha kids given gift vouchers in appreciation of their valuable participation during the Buntayana and Deepavali Parbha 2017. This was followed by the election of the 2018 managing committee. Returning officer Shalini Vijay Shetty announced the members unanimously elected as office bearers of the Buntara Sangha for the year 2018.

In their introductory speech, the elected members of the managing committee assured the members of the association of their best service during their tenure. The newly elected president, Dr.Shekar Shetty in his speech thanked the members for reposing confidence in him and assured that MC 2018 is committed to make progress to ensure successful and ambitious outcomes for the Sangha both in cultural and welfare activities. He praised the efforts of the predecessors and hoped that the members would continue to support and work closely with the managing committee to provide an amazing family environment and values for the Sangha children.

The program was beautifully hosted by Srilatha Deviprasad Shetty, followed by the Entertainment programs by Bunts Sangha members and Guest artists and quiz by Master Yash Yadunath Alva kept the audience engrossed and entertained also various games were conducted by Shruthi Pakkala to involve and entertain all members. The programme came to a beautiful end with New Year celebration, cutting of the cake and vote of thanks by outgoing General Secretary Praveen Shetty Sankat. The event concluded with dinner by Oriental Restaurant.
